Skoda Kushaq Facelift SUV Launched in India with Updated Design and Features

Skoda Auto India has officially introduced the highly anticipated Skoda Kushaq facelift SUV to the Indian market, with prices commencing at Rs 10.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Pre-bookings are currently open, allowing customers to reserve the vehicle either online or through their nearest dealerships. Deliveries are slated to begin shortly, marking a significant update to this popular model.

Pricing and Warranty Details

The new Kushaq is available in five distinct variants: Classic Plus, Signature, Sportline, Prestige, and Monte Carlo. Skoda is enhancing customer confidence by offering an extended warranty package, which includes up to six years of comprehensive coverage, a six-year corrosion warranty, and a three-year paint warranty. This move aims to provide added value and peace of mind to buyers in a competitive segment.

Design and Styling Updates

While the overall silhouette of the SUV remains unchanged, the facelift brings a complete redesign to the front and rear ends. At the front, it features a redesigned grille with chrome accents, slimmer headlamps, and a new LED DRL signature that spans across the grille. The lower section incorporates a fresh skid plate and a honeycomb-style bumper design. Side profiles see subtle enhancements, including newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels and thicker black cladding that boosts the vehicle's road presence.

At the rear, the Kushaq sports a redesigned tailgate with connecting LED taillights and illuminated 'SKODA' lettering. Additional exterior highlights include a shark fin antenna, silver skid plate, rear wiper with washer, roof rails, and an integrated spoiler, giving it a more modern and aggressive look.

Interior and Feature Upgrades

Inside, the cabin retains its familiar layout but receives minor updates and enhanced features. Key additions include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and a six-speaker Skoda sound system with a subwoofer and amplifier. Other notable features are automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette seats, electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation, an AI companion powered by Google, and a segment-first rear massager, elevating comfort and convenience.

Engine and Performance Specifications

Mechanically, the Kushaq facelift continues with two engine options: a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 115 hp and 175 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine delivering 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Gearbox options have been updated; the 1.0-litre engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or a new 8-speed torque converter automatic, replacing the previous 6-speed unit, while the 1.5-litre engine exclusively offers a 7-speed DSG transmission.

Safety and Competitors

Safety remains a priority, with the Kushaq equipped with six airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, all-wheel disc brakes, rain-sensing wipers, a defogger, and an auto IRVM. It has also earned a five-star safety rating from GNCAP for both adult and child occupants. The SUV continues to compete in a crowded segment against rivals such as the Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, and Maruti Suzuki Victoris, positioning itself as a strong contender with its refreshed appeal and robust feature set.
