Rootz 2025: Surat's Diamond Jewellery Exhibition Draws Global Buyers
Surat Diamond Jewellery Exhibition Opens with Global Reach

The vibrant diamond capital of India, Surat, has launched its prestigious jewellery exhibition, Rootz 2025, marking a significant moment for the local manufacturing industry. This three-day extravaganza promises to elevate Surat's jewellery manufacturers onto both national and international platforms.

Grand Inauguration and Key Participants

The fifth edition of Rootz 2025 was officially inaugurated by Mayor Daxesh Mavani at the International Convention cum Exhibition Hall in Sarsana, Surat. Organized collaboratively by the Surat Jewellery Manufacturer Association (SJMA) and Surat Jewel Tech Foundation, the event has drawn substantial attention from industry stakeholders.

Notable attendees included SJMA office bearers, numerous jewellery manufacturers from Gujarat, and buyers from various parts of India and overseas. The presence of international buyers from destinations such as Hong Kong, Canada, and Dubai underscores the event's growing global significance.

Extensive Exhibition and Product Range

More than 170 exhibitors, primarily based in Surat, are displaying an impressive array of jewellery products. The exhibition features lab-grown gold and silver diamonds, natural diamonds, and plain jewellery, catering to diverse consumer preferences and budgets.

According to Rootz 2025 event chairman Jayanti Savaliya, "With the rise in gold prices, this time we have also included jewellery with fewer carats. Some exhibitors are showcasing gold jewellery ranging from 9 carats to 14 carats." This strategic move ensures the exhibition remains accessible to a broader market segment while addressing current economic realities.

The product range includes ornaments suitable for various occasions, including daily wear, weddings, and special events, providing buyers with comprehensive options for their inventory needs.

SJMA 365 Global Connect Initiative

A significant development during the event was the launch of 'SJMA 365 Global Connect', an innovative program designed to facilitate year-round business opportunities for Surat's jewellery manufacturers. Under this initiative, retail jewellers from across India and abroad will be invited to visit Surat throughout the year for business dealings and factory visits.

Savaliya elaborated on the program's mechanics: "The SJMA will bear the cost of accommodation and travel for the buyers. The buyers had to fill the registration form on our website. Our teams will verify the buyer's details mentioned in the registration form and later invite them."

This groundbreaking approach aims to transform Surat into a perennial jewellery business hub rather than limiting business interactions to annual exhibition events.

Expected Impact and Future Prospects

The organizers have received online registrations from over 5,000 buyers, reflecting strong market interest in Surat's jewellery manufacturing capabilities. SJMA president Amit Korat expressed optimism about the event's reach, stating, "Rootz is an international platform for the jewellery manufacturers of Surat. We are expecting a footfall of around 10,000 buyers."

The SJMA has proactively contacted jewellery retailer associations across different states, encouraging their participation in the exhibition. This networking effort demonstrates the association's commitment to expanding Surat's jewellery market reach beyond traditional boundaries.

With the combination of physical exhibition and the newly launched year-round connect program, Surat's jewellery industry appears poised for significant growth and enhanced global recognition in the coming years.
