Tata Nexon Claims Top Spot in India's February 2026 Car Sales

The Indian automotive market witnessed intense competition in February 2026, with Tata Motors emerging as a dominant force by securing two positions among the three best-selling passenger vehicles. The Tata Nexon solidified its position as the country's highest-selling car for the month, recording an impressive 19,430 units sold. This achievement underscores the compact SUV's consistent popularity and strong performance in a highly competitive segment.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Narrowly Misses First Place

Maruti Suzuki's Dzire sedan came remarkably close to claiming the top position, finishing a close second with 19,326 units sold. The difference between the Nexon and Dzire was a mere margin of just over 100 units, highlighting the fierce rivalry in India's passenger vehicle market. This near-tie demonstrates the enduring appeal of both compact SUVs and sedans among Indian consumers.

Tata Punch Secures Strong Third Position

Completing the top three was another Tata Motors product, the Tata Punch, which posted robust sales of 18,748 units. With both the Nexon and Punch ranking among the top three best-selling models, Tata Motors maintained a formidable presence in the SUV space throughout February 2026. This dual success reflects the brand's strategic focus on the growing SUV segment in India.
