Tata Motors is gearing up to strengthen its position in the popular sub-compact SUV segment with the official launch of the updated Tata Punch. The much-anticipated facelifted model is scheduled to hit the market on January 13, following its digital unveiling and arrival at dealerships. As a key revenue generator for the brand, the refreshed Punch is expected to drive a significant sales surge with its comprehensive upgrades.
Exterior Gets A Bold New Personality
The Tata Punch facelift undergoes a substantial transformation, taking clear design inspiration from its electric sibling, the Tata Punch EV. The front and rear profiles have been completely reimagined. Up front, it sports a new radiator grille and updated lighting elements. The bumpers at both ends have been redesigned, complemented by a refreshed skid plate with a distinctive silver finish.
Adding to the fresh appeal is a new colour palette and a contemporary set of alloy wheels that enhance the vehicle's side profile. These changes collectively give the SUV a more modern and assertive road presence.
A Cabin Loaded With Premium Tech
Step inside, and the upgrades are equally impressive. The interior of the Punch facelift is now more feature-rich and tech-savvy. The centrepiece is a larger touchscreen infotainment system, paired with a 7.0-inch fully digital instrument cluster. For convenience and safety, it boasts a 360-degree camera and an auto-dimming IRVM.

The most significant mechanical update is the introduction of a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This powertrain will sit alongside the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit from the current model. The expansion aims to offer customers more performance-oriented choices.
Transmission options will be varied to suit different preferences. Buyers can expect a five-speed manual, an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), and a six-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, a six-speed torque converter automatic will also be available, likely paired with the new turbo engine for a smoother drive.
