Tragedy Strikes Sitaram Denim Factory in Bhilwara
Two young workers lost their lives under suspicious circumstances at a textile factory in Bhilwara's Rayala police station area on Wednesday. The incident triggered immediate protests as grieving family members and villagers gathered outside the mortuary, demanding justice.
The deceased have been identified as Gajanand Gadri (25), from Jindras village in Asind, and Kamlesh Gurjar (24), a resident of Nanodi village. Both men had been employed at the factory for approximately six months.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The tragedy unfolded at the Sitaram Denim Factory, located on the busy Jaipur-Chittorgarh National Highway. Around 8 am on Wednesday, fellow employees discovered Gadri and Gurjar lying unconscious near a boiler on the premises.
Emergency services were alerted, and a 108 ambulance rushed both workers to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara. Tragically, doctors at the hospital declared them brought dead upon arrival.
Police officials stated that a preliminary investigation points towards suffocation from poisonous gas that may have emanated from the boiler. ASP Rajesh Arya from Shahpura clarified that the workers were found unconscious while they were fixing the boiler. However, the exact cause of death remains unconfirmed, pending the post-mortem report and a full police investigation.
Outrage and Demands for Justice
The news of the deaths sparked immediate outrage. Villagers and family members of the deceased assembled outside the hospital mortuary, protesting and demanding the registration of a case against the factory owner.
BJP MLA from Mandal, Udai Lal Bhadana, joined police and administrative officers in attempts to persuade the protesters. Bhadana made serious allegations, claiming, "The factory management is lying in the matter. Their death had occurred at night itself and after this the factory was closed."
He further stated the protesters' key demand: "Our demand is that after investigating this, a murder case should be registered against the culprits. If this doesn't happen, we will sit here and perform the last rites of the bodies outside the factory operator's house."
Police Response and Investigation Status
In response to the tense situation, police forces were deployed from multiple stations including Gulabpura, Rayala, Baneda, and Mandal.
Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh issued a warning to the protesters, stating, "Continuous persuasion is being done, if they still don't agree and disrespect the bodies, then a case will be registered against the protesters under the new law."
Regarding the formal legal proceedings, ASP Arya noted that as of now, no case has been registered against the factory operator because the families of the deceased had not yet submitted a formal report. The investigation into the precise cause of the fatal incident is ongoing, with authorities awaiting the conclusive post-mortem report.
