The deceased workers have been identified as M Noor Alam, aged 32, and Rampurus, aged 35, both hailing from Bihar. According to police sources, Alam and Rampurus were employed at a private paper mill situated in Pushpathur, within Dindigul district. As part of routine maintenance operations, the duo entered the boiler to clean it, a task that turned fatal due to hazardous conditions.
During the cleaning process, both workers became unconscious, reportedly due to an alleged leakage of toxic gas from the boiler. This sudden exposure to noxious fumes led to immediate asphyxiation, rendering them helpless. Fellow workers at the site quickly noticed the dire situation and rushed the unconscious individuals to a nearby government hospital in Madathupuram in a desperate attempt to save their lives.
