The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved a budget of approximately Rs 547 crore for the construction of a six-lane road connecting Atari to IIM road via Raitha, significantly improving connectivity for investors in the upcoming textile park in Malihabad. The decision was taken on Monday, authorizing the Public Works Department (PWD) to proceed with the project.
Project Details
The 23-kilometer road stretch will directly link the textile park located in Atari village to both the outer ring road and IIM road via the Raitha underpass. This development ensures that investors can easily access major routes such as Lucknow-Hardoi road, Sitapur road, Engineering College crossing, and other parts of Lucknow district through the outer ring road. A senior officer stated, “That way investors intending to access both Lucknow-Hardoi road, Sitapur road, Engineering College crossing and other parts of Lucknow district via outer ring road will not have to worry about connectivity. The upcoming road would improve overall accessibility of Atari village in Malihabad.”
Road Specifications
The stretch between Raitha underpass and Atari will be a six-lane greenfield project, while connectivity between IIM road and Raitha village will be enhanced by widening the existing road to two lanes. Officials noted that the local population in Mal, Malihabad, and Dubagga, along with farmers and mango growers in the region, will also benefit from the improved infrastructure. “Commute time to Amausi would also come down substantially,” the officer added.
Strategic Location
Atari village was selected for the textile park due to its proximity to key logistics hubs. It is located approximately 45 kilometers from Amausi airport, 40 kilometers from Charbagh railway station, and 15 kilometers from Malihabad railway station. The new road will further enhance its connectivity, making it an attractive destination for investment.
This infrastructure boost is expected to accelerate the development of the textile park, which is poised to generate employment and economic growth in the region.
