UPSIDA Board Greenlights 34 Key Proposals to Accelerate Industrial Growth in Uttar Pradesh

The 50th board meeting of the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) was convened on Wednesday at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow. Chaired by Alok Kumar, the Additional Chief Secretary for Infrastructure and Industrial Development, the session resulted in the approval of 34 significant proposals aimed at industrial development, infrastructure strengthening, and investment promotion across the state.

Major Decisions and Approvals from the Meeting

During the meeting, the board took several crucial steps to streamline operations and ensure quality. A third-party inspection agency (TPIA) was selected to oversee development and maintenance works, guaranteeing high standards in industrial projects. Additionally, layout plans for industrial areas in Kampil Spinning Mill, Mau Aima, Bahadurganj, Salempur, and Barabanki received official approval.

Proposals concerning industrial zones in Ballia, Hathras, Fatehpur, Barabanki, and Chitrakoot were thoroughly reviewed, with revised layout plans approved after necessary modifications. The board also issued directives to amend existing policies to expand the land bank, facilitating more industrial opportunities.

Innovative Measures for Transparency and Efficiency

To enhance transparency and effective supervision, a decision was made to implement a drone-based monitoring system in industrial areas. This technology will provide real-time oversight, ensuring projects adhere to guidelines and timelines. Instructions were given to prepare a revised scheme for land allotment and to process received applications strictly according to rules.

Regarding land acquisition in Saharanpur and Badaun, the board emphasized ensuring proper road connectivity before proceeding with acquisition processes. It was further decided that after 75% of the allotable land is allocated, the remaining 25% will be allotted through e-auction, promoting fairness and competitiveness.

Leadership Insights and Future Vision

Chairperson Alok Kumar highlighted that these decisions are designed to boost efficiency, transparency, and an investment-oriented approach within UPSIDA. He stated that these measures will significantly promote industrial investment, generate employment, and support balanced regional development throughout Uttar Pradesh.

The Additional Chief Secretary noted that infrastructure projects have received strong financial backing from the government, ensuring their accelerated development within one year. He stressed the importance of strengthening transparency and fairness in the allotment process through e-auctions, which will help eliminate biases and encourage broader participation.

"UPSIDA's objective is not merely to allot industrial plots, but to develop a world-class industrial ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh. Initiatives like drone-based monitoring and digital services will accelerate the state's progress towards the $1 trillion economy target," he explained.

He also directed officials to pay special attention to road connectivity and logistics infrastructure during land acquisition in regions such as Saharanpur and Badaun, ensuring that industrial areas are well-integrated into the state's transportation network.
