Vietnamese electric vehicle giant VinFast has officially announced its ambitious plan to introduce a new seven-seater electric car in the Indian market. The model, named the VinFast Limo Green, is slated for launch in February 2026 and will mark the company's third EV offering in the country, following the VF 6 and VF 7.
VinFast Limo Green: Design and Key Details
The upcoming VinFast Limo Green is an electric Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) designed to cater to the growing demand for family-oriented EVs. Its design incorporates the brand's signature V-shaped motifs while adhering to classic MPV proportions. The vehicle features slab-sided body panels and is expected to come with stylish wheels fitted with aerodynamic covers to improve efficiency.
VinFast has already secured a design patent for the Limo Green in India earlier this year. The model sold in Vietnam measures 4,740 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width, and 1,728 mm in height, with a substantial wheelbase of 2,840 mm. The Indian version is anticipated to have similar dimensions, offering ample interior space.
Interior, Features, and Safety
Inside, the cabin follows a minimalistic design philosophy with a practical 2+3+2 seating configuration for seven occupants. Key amenities for the Indian market are expected to include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a four-speaker audio setup, single-zone automatic climate control, and multiple USB charging ports for convenience.
On the safety front, the India-spec VinFast Limo Green is likely to be equipped with essential features including four airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and an electronic parking brake. It remains uncertain whether Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) will be part of the standard package.
Powertrain, Rivals, and Local Production Strategy
While VinFast has not disclosed the exact powertrain specifications for the Indian model, the Vietnamese variant offers a reference point. It uses a 60.13 kWh battery pack paired with a front-axle electric motor that delivers 198 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. This setup promises an NEDC range of approximately 450 km on a full charge. The battery supports 11 kW AC and 80 kW DC fast-charging, allowing a charge from 10% to 70% in about 30 minutes using a fast charger.
Upon its arrival, the VinFast Limo Green will enter a competitive segment, challenging upcoming electric models like the Kia Carens Clavis EV and the BYD eMax 7. It may also position itself as an alternative to popular internal combustion engine vehicles like the Toyota Innova Crysta.
Crucially, to achieve competitive pricing in the price-sensitive Indian market, VinFast has confirmed its intention to produce the Limo Green locally within the country. This local manufacturing strategy is key to its plan for gaining a foothold in India's rapidly evolving electric vehicle landscape.
