GK Group Chairman, Sons Face Fraud Cases in Ludhiana

The Ludhiana police have initiated significant legal action against a prominent local real estate entity, registering two separate cases of alleged property fraud involving the family behind the GK Group, based in Sangowal village. The First Information Reports (FIRs) name the group's chairman, Gulshan Kumar, and three of his sons as accused, marking a serious development for the well-known city-based firm. Authorities confirm that investigations are actively proceeding in both matters, though no arrests have been made at this stage.

First Case: Alleged Land Encroachment Near Petrol Pump

In the first instance, an FIR has been filed against GK Group Chairman Gulshan Kumar and his sons, Rohit Kumar and Sunny Kumar. The complainant, Tarvinder Singh, a resident of Lohara, brought the issue to light. According to the complaint lodged on March 13, the accused allegedly conspired to construct a petrol pump next to Singh's two shops.

The core allegation is that after building the petrol pump, they attempted to illegally expand onto Singh's property by extending the tiled area of the pump onto his land. Following a preliminary probe into the complaint, the police directed the registration of a formal case against the three individuals.

Second Case: Accusations of Fraudulent Land Sale

The second case revolves around a disputed property transaction and implicates another son of the chairman, Sahil Kumar of Aggar Nagar Extension, along with an associate named Harjit Singh of Dhandra Road. The complainant, Gurcharan Kaur from Gobindgarh, alleges that the accused entered into a contract to sell her a plot of land measuring 7 kanals, 10.5 marlas (approximately 4,252 square yards) located in Sangowal village.

The fraud accusation stems from the claim that after signing the contract, the accused sold the same piece of land to other buyers, thereby cheating Gurcharan Kaur of her rightful purchase. The complaint was initially filed on December 26, 2024. After conducting an investigation, the Sadar police station registered an FIR against Sahil Kumar and Harjit Singh. The charges invoked include sections related to cheating, criminal conspiracy, and violations under the Registration Act.

Mounting Legal Challenges for Prominent Realty Group

The registration of two distinct FIRs against the chairman and his sons underscores the escalating legal troubles confronting the GK Group, a notable player in Ludhiana's real estate sector. These cases bring to the fore serious questions regarding property dealings and contractual integrity. The police have emphasized that their inquiries are ongoing, and the developments are being closely monitored as the investigations unfold. The outcome could have substantial implications for the group's reputation and operations in the region's competitive property market.
