Ludhiana MC Commissioner Directs Officials to Stop Illegal Constructions, Recover Dues
Ludhiana MC cracks down on illegal construction, dues recovery

In a decisive move to enforce urban discipline, Ludhiana Municipal Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal has issued strict directives to civic officials, focusing on two critical areas: recovering pending dues and putting a complete stop to unauthorized construction activities across the city.

Strict Directives Issued in Key Meeting

The instructions were delivered during a significant review meeting held at the MC Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar on Tuesday. The gathering saw participation from senior officials of the building branch across all four zones of the city. Attendees included the SE-cum-MTP, assistant town planners (ATPs), the head draftsman, building inspectors, and other personnel connected with building operations.

Commissioner Dachalwal left no room for ambiguity, setting clear weekly recovery targets for the officials. He emphasized that these targets must be met without any delay. To ensure accountability, the commissioner warned that strict departmental action would be initiated against any official failing to achieve their assigned recovery goals.

Zero Tolerance on Illegal Constructions

A major highlight of the meeting was the reinforced focus on curbing illegal construction. Dachalwal instructed all building branch officials to submit certificates confirming that no illegal construction activity is taking place within their respective jurisdictions. This move aims to establish direct responsibility and enhance ground-level vigilance.

The commissioner reiterated that stopping illegal constructions remains a top priority for the civic body. Officials have been instructed to maintain strict and constant vigilance in their areas to prevent any unauthorized building work from commencing or progressing.

Regular Reviews and Public Advisory

To ensure the directives translate into results, Dachalwal announced that regular review meetings will be held. These sessions will monitor the progress in dues recovery and assess the effectiveness of actions against illegal constructions. The objective is to accelerate the recovery of funds owed to the Municipal Corporation.

Addressing the residents of Ludhiana, Commissioner Dachalwal issued a crucial advisory. He urged all citizens to begin any construction work only after receiving formal approval for their building plan from the MC. He cautioned that the civic body will not hesitate to take strict action against anyone found undertaking construction without the necessary permissions.

Dachalwal concluded by reaffirming the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation's commitment to enforcing building regulations and ensuring city-wide compliance. This crackdown signifies a renewed administrative effort to bring order to urban development and secure municipal revenues.
