The Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM) has given a significant push to urban and rural infrastructure with a major financial sanction. The civic body's finance and contracts committee has approved a total of 37 development projects with a combined estimated cost of Rs 132 crore. This move is set to transform living standards across the corporation's jurisdiction.
Major Initiatives for Greenery and Safety
Manesar Mayor Inderjeet Kaur Yadav outlined several flagship projects. A highlight is the development of a lake view park in Kasan village, designed to mirror the popular Leisure Valley park in Gurgaon. To enhance public safety, the corporation will identify and illuminate all black spots across its area with new street lights. Furthermore, welcome gates will be constructed at the entrance of every village, adding to local identity and aesthetics.
On the sustainability front, rainwater harvesting pits will be built throughout the MCM area to conserve precious water resources. The civic body is also cracking down on pollution. All assistant sanitation inspectors have now been empowered to issue challans (fines) against individuals or entities found dumping or burning garbage in the open.
Comprehensive Infrastructure Overhaul
The approved projects cover a wide range of critical civil works. Key approvals include:
- Water supply line work in Dhana village (Ward 7).
- Construction of internal lanes in Bas Kusla village.
- Development work in Wazirpur village (Ward 4).
- A concrete block road from Pareena Society to the PHC centre in Garhi (Ward 1).
- Laying of water and sewer lines in Ward 12.
- Drain construction in Sikandarpur Bada village.
- Laying of a 600 MM sewer line in Bas Hariya village.
- Road construction from PHC to the cremation ground in Garhi village.
- RCC road, drain, and street light works in Rampura village.
- An underground tank in Khoh village and a boosting station in Naharpur.
Additionally, the corporation has sanctioned the one-year maintenance of all community toilets built within its area.
Focus on Sanitation and Waste Management
A crucial part of the development drive is the formalisation of waste collection. Mayor Yadav announced that door-to-door garbage collection services have commenced under a five-year plan. This service now covers all 31 villages across 20 wards of the corporation, as well as approximately 80 residential societies. This systematic approach aims to significantly improve cleanliness and public health.
The sweeping approval of these 37 projects marks a decisive step by the Manesar Municipal Corporation towards holistic urban development. By addressing infrastructure gaps, enhancing green spaces, and enforcing sanitation rules, the MCM aims to boost the quality of life for its residents and pave the way for a more sustainable and well-equipped region.
