The Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) is preparing for another land auction in Raidurg Panmaktha, also known as Knowledge City, with a record upset price of Rs 139 crore per acre. Officials informed the Times of India that the government expects to generate approximately Rs 2,000 crore by auctioning around 11 acres of land.
Auction Details
TGIIC issued a notification for the auctions on Thursday. One plot measuring 6.29 acres in survey number 83/1 will be auctioned on May 28, while another 5.09-acre plot in the same survey number will be auctioned on June 1.
Previous Auctions Set Records
Land auctions held in October 2025 had fetched a record Rs 177 crore per acre, with TGIIC earning Rs 3,135 crore. The upset price at that time was Rs 101 crore per acre. In a subsequent auction for a plot of less than one acre, the upset price was set at Rs 3.10 lakh per square yard, and the plot was sold for Rs 3.40 lakh per square yard, generating an additional Rs 160 crore for TGIIC.
High Demand Due to Strategic Location
There is immense demand for land in Raidurg, as it houses some of the largest global corporations. The area is also home to T-Hub and T-Works. Its proximity to the Outer Ring Road and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) further enhances its appeal.
Land Holdings and Legal Issues
The state government owns approximately 470 acres of land in Knowledge City and has sold about 200 acres in past auctions. Official sources revealed that around 70 acres of land in Raidurg are currently entangled in legal disputes.
