Trichy: SASTRA Deemed University, based in Thanjavur, and Hyderabad-based Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering capacity building, research, and training initiatives.
The agreement was formalized during SASTRA's 25th University Day celebrations, with TASL executive director Masood Hussainy attending as the guest of honour. In his address, Hussainy reaffirmed TASL's commitment to a long-term partnership and commended the university's growth trajectory and its emphasis on capacity building.
Commissioner of Income Tax J Premanad, also present at the event, praised the institution's social outreach programs and encouraged students to leverage their problem-solving abilities to tackle societal issues.
Presenting the annual report for 2025-26, Vice-Chancellor Dr S Vaidhyasubramaniam highlighted several key achievements. These included research and consultancy projects worth Rs 120 crore, the publication of over 1,200 papers, and more than 3,900 job offers extended by 247 recruiters. Infrastructure additions amounting to Rs 160 crore and social outreach projects valued at Rs 6 crore were also noted.
The event concluded with the presentation of best outgoing student awards across various disciplines.
