Yulu's Bengaluru EV Fleet Surpasses 1 Billion Kilometers Milestone
Bengaluru-based shared electric vehicle mobility platform Yulu has announced a significant achievement, crossing the remarkable milestone of 1 billion kilometers of rides within the city. The company made this announcement on Friday, highlighting its growing impact on urban transportation.
Expanding Fleet and Delivery Goals
Yulu currently operates a fleet of 22,500 electric vehicles in Bengaluru, providing essential short-distance mobility solutions for deliveries, daily commutes, and leisure rides. Looking ahead, the company has ambitious expansion plans. Amit Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Yulu, revealed that the platform aims to increase its Bengaluru fleet to between 35,000 and 40,000 vehicles. This expansion is targeted to support an impressive 20 million monthly deliveries, significantly boosting its service capacity.
Environmental Impact and Market Presence
According to a recent press release, Yulu has powered 190 million doorstep deliveries to date. This extensive delivery network has resulted in substantial environmental benefits, eliminating approximately 27 million kilograms of CO2 emissions. To put this into perspective, this reduction is equivalent to the annual emissions of 18,500 cars, underscoring Yulu's contribution to cleaner urban environments.
Bengaluru remains Yulu's largest and most established market, although the company also operates in other major Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Hyderabad. In Bengaluru specifically, Yulu has built a robust infrastructure to support its operations:
- Coverage across all major pincodes in the city
- Support from 16 operational centers
- Service availability in over 700 zones
This comprehensive network ensures that Yulu's electric vehicles are accessible and efficient for a wide range of users, from delivery personnel to daily commuters. The company's focus on sustainable mobility continues to drive its growth and environmental mission in one of India's most dynamic urban landscapes.
