Pak-India Business Council Advocates for Renewed Dialogue Ahead of Republic Day
The Pak-India Business Council (PIBC), a bilateral think tank and advocacy body dedicated to enhancing trade and commercial relations between Pakistan and India, has issued a significant appeal on Sunday. The council urged both nations to resume dialogue without further delay to resolve outstanding issues, extending warm greetings to Indians globally ahead of their 77th Republic Day.
Recognition of India's Economic Progress
In his message, PIBC chairman Noor Muhammad Kasuri acknowledged India's remarkable strides in infrastructure, technology, and industrial development. He emphasized that India is poised to become the world's third-largest economy in the near future, a testament to its dynamic growth trajectory. Kasuri highlighted the immense potential for collaborative engagement between India, Pakistan, and other neighboring countries to foster inclusive growth, innovation, and a future-ready workforce capable of addressing emerging regional and global challenges.
Envisioning a Shared Future of Peace and Prosperity
"As India marks its 77th Republic Day on January 26, we must envision a shared future of peace, prosperity, and strengthened regional ties," Kasuri stated. He called upon countries of the Global South to jointly tackle pressing issues such as climate change, poverty, hunger, disease, and educational disparities. Stressing the necessity for cross-border platforms and forums, Kasuri argued that such mechanisms could significantly promote constructive engagement, economic cooperation, and sustainable development across the region.
Leadership Responsibility and Cultural Bonds
Kasuri underscored the responsibility of leadership in both nations to actively promote dialogue, tolerance, and lasting peace. He pointed out that the peoples of Pakistan and India share profound cultural, linguistic, and emotional bonds, which can be reinforced through compassion, understanding, and collaboration. "Political differences should not overshadow the pursuit of regional stability and shared progress," he added, advocating for a shift in focus towards mutual benefits.

The PIBC chairman called for joint industrial, trade, and environmental initiatives designed to generate employment, uplift communities, and foster mutual prosperity. "Peaceful coexistence and economic partnership are the most effective pathways to regional stability and well-being," Kasuri asserted. He urged political leaders, civil society, and the media in both countries to adopt a constructive approach, replacing the rhetoric of rivalry with reconciliation. Kasuri concluded by emphasizing that sustainable peace between Pakistan and India would bring stability and economic opportunity to millions across South Asia, paving the way for a brighter collective future.
