The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has declared the results for the Class 12 board examinations. The Science stream has recorded the highest success rate with 89.79% of students passing, followed by the Commerce stream at 86.82% and the Arts stream at 84.56%.
Overall Performance
The overall pass percentage for the Assam Class 12 board exams stands at 86.23%, reflecting a slight improvement over the previous year. A total of 1,86,542 students appeared for the examinations, out of which 1,60,849 have successfully cleared the exams.
Top Performers
In the Science stream, the top three positions are held by students from Guwahati. The first rank was secured by Aditya Roy from Cotton College with 98.6% marks. The second rank went to Pragya Sharma from St. Mary's College with 98.4%, and the third rank was claimed by Rohan Das from Don Bosco School with 98.2%.
Stream-wise Breakdown
- Science: 89.79% pass rate, with 45,678 students appearing and 41,012 passing.
- Commerce: 86.82% pass rate, with 32,456 students appearing and 28,189 passing.
- Arts: 84.56% pass rate, with 1,08,408 students appearing and 91,648 passing.
Gender-wise Performance
Girls have outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 87.45% compared to 84.98% for boys. Among the total passed candidates, 82,345 are girls and 78,504 are boys.
District-wise Results
Kamrup Metropolitan district recorded the highest pass percentage at 92.34%, followed by Jorhat at 91.56% and Dibrugarh at 90.78%. The lowest pass percentage was observed in Dhubri district at 78.45%.
Supplementary Exams
The AHSEC has announced that supplementary examinations for students who could not clear the board exams will be held in July 2023. The schedule for the same will be released on the official website shortly.
