The Assam State School Education Board announced the Class 12 board results on Tuesday, revealing a notable increase in the Science stream pass rate, while Arts and Commerce streams experienced slight declines.
Stream-wise Performance
The Science stream saw a five-percentage-point improvement, rising from 84.88% last year to 89.79% this year. In contrast, the Commerce stream slipped from 82.18% in 2025 to 81.13%, and the Arts stream fell from 81.03% to 79.54%. In the vocational stream, 74.19% of students passed the examinations.
No Rank Holders List Released
Unlike previous years, the board did not release a list of rank holders. Officials stated that the overall performance was satisfactory, particularly in Science, despite the higher turnout of candidates.
Record Number of Candidates
More than 3.3 lakh candidates—the highest ever—appeared for the February–March examinations. This marks a significant increase compared to previous years.
Comparison with Previous Year
Last year, pass percentages fell across all three major streams by 5–7%. In 2025, Science had dropped from 89.88% in 2024 to 84.88%, Commerce from 87.66% to 82.18%, and Arts from 88.36% to 81.03%. The current year's results show a recovery in Science, while Commerce and Arts continue to decline.
