The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has officially kicked off the examination process for the Intermediate Annual Examination 2026 by releasing the admit cards for the practical subjects. The board has also announced the crucial schedule and a detailed set of instructions for students and institutions alike.
Practical Exam Schedule and Admit Card Download
The Class 12 practical examinations for subjects such as home science, music, and fine arts are scheduled to be held from January 10 to January 20, 2026. The hall tickets for these exams are now available for download on the board's official portal, intermediate.biharboardonline.com. Candidates and institutions must note that the last date to download the admit cards is January 9, 2026.
In a significant procedural update, BSEB has directed the heads of all recognized +2 level educational institutions to take charge of downloading the admit cards for their students. They must use the unique ID and password provided by the board for this purpose. After downloading, the institute heads are responsible for verifying and distributing the admit cards to the eligible candidates. Each card must bear the signature of the institution head and the official seal before being handed over.
Eligibility and Responsibilities of Institutions
The board has reiterated strict eligibility criteria for appearing in the practical exams. Only those candidates who are 'sent-up' and have both appeared and passed the sent-up or test examination conducted by their institution are eligible. This rule has serious implications for school administration.
BSEB has issued a clear warning to institution heads. If an admit card is issued to a candidate who is non sent-up, failed, or was absent in the sent-up exam, the entire responsibility will fall on the head of that institution. The board stated that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken as per rules in such cases. Notably, admit cards have not been generated for institutions that failed to ensure their students' participation in the mandatory sent-up examination.
Support for Candidates with Disabilities
In line with inclusive education policies, BSEB has outlined provisions for candidates with disabilities. The facilities for scribes or writers will be provided based on the instructions issued by the District Education Officer. These guidelines follow the framework set by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
Eligible candidates with disabilities will be entitled to a scribe based on their documented requirement. Furthermore, in a supportive measure, such candidates will be granted a compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination duration.
Important Instructions for Exam Day
Students must collect their verified practical exam admit cards from their respective institution heads. On the day of the examination, it is mandatory to carry both the admit card and a valid original photo identity proof to the exam centre. Failure to produce these documents may result in being barred from taking the exam.
For any technical difficulties encountered while downloading the admit card, the board has activated a dedicated support channel. Candidates or institution officials can seek assistance by calling the helpline at 0612-2230039 or by sending an email to bsebinterhelpdesk@gmail.com.
With the practical exams marking the beginning of the crucial board examination season, students are advised to complete all formalities well before the deadline and prepare diligently for their tests.
