The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced the online registration process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), a mandatory examination for candidates aspiring to become teachers in CBSE-affiliated schools. According to the official notification, the 22nd edition of CTET will be conducted on September 6 across 132 cities in India, available in 27 languages.
Application Process and Deadlines
The online application process began on Monday and will remain open until June 10. Candidates can pay the exam fee within this period. After submitting the application, applicants can make corrections to their forms. The correction window will be open from June 15 to 18, after which no changes will be permitted.
Admit Cards and Results
The admit cards for the exam will be released online on September 4, two days before the examination. Results are expected to be declared by the end of October.
Exam Structure and City Allocation
The CTET will consist of two papers. Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach Classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 is for those aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8. This year, CBSE has clarified that candidates will not be allowed to select their preferred exam city. Instead, the board will randomly allocate exam centers.
CBSE has also stated that if the number of applicants increases significantly, the exam may be held on September 5 as well. In the previous session, over 26 lakh candidates registered, prompting the board to hold the exam over two days.
