The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students to apply for verification of marks and re-evaluation of answer sheets. The new deadline is June 12, 2026. Students who wish to apply for the process can do so by visiting the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in.
Important Dates and Fees
The application window, which was originally set to close earlier, has been extended to provide more time for students. The fee for verification of marks is Rs. 500 per subject, while the fee for re-evaluation is Rs. 100 per question. Students can apply for both processes simultaneously by paying the applicable fees.
Steps to Apply for Verification and Re-evaluation
- Visit the official CBSE website: cbse.gov.in.
- Click on the link for 'Class 12 Verification and Re-evaluation Application 2026'.
- Enter your roll number and other required details to log in.
- Select the subjects for which you want to apply for verification or re-evaluation.
- Pay the prescribed fee online through the available payment modes.
- Submit the application and take a printout for future reference.
What Happens After Application?
After the application is submitted, CBSE will process the requests. For verification, the board will re-check the totalling of marks in the answer sheet. For re-evaluation, the answer sheet will be re-assessed by a different examiner. The revised marks will be communicated to students through the official website. It is important to note that the re-evaluation process may lead to an increase, decrease, or no change in marks.
Students are advised to carefully read the guidelines provided on the CBSE website before applying. The board has also clarified that no further extension of the deadline will be granted. Therefore, students should complete the application process well before the last date.
