The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially closed the application process for Class 12 verification of marks and re-evaluation. The application window remained open from June 2 to June 7.
During this period, more than 1.6 lakh candidates successfully submitted requests pertaining to over 3.8 lakh answer books, as confirmed by CBSE. Only those candidates who had applied for their scanned answer books during the preceding stage (Answer Books Photocopy) were eligible to avail the subsequent stage of Verification of Issues Observed and Re-evaluation of Answers.
However, some students continued to raise concerns on social media, claiming that they did not receive their scanned answer sheets on time. Responding to these complaints, CBSE reiterated its commitment to a transparent and student-centric post-result process, assuring that genuine concerns are being addressed through its support channels.
When Will CBSE Release Re-evaluation Results?
CBSE's re-evaluation results are generally declared several weeks after the application process closes, according to The Economic Times. Since the application window ended on June 7, revised results are expected to be released in July 2026. CBSE has not announced an official date for the release of Class 12 re-evaluation results. Students are advised to regularly check the official CBSE website for updates.
Once the process is completed, any changes in marks will be reflected in the revised score records issued by the board.
Background of the 2026 CBSE Class 12 Result Fiasco
The 2026 CBSE Class 12 result fiasco began when results were declared on May 13 with a sharp drop in pass percentage and unexpectedly low marks in core subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. CBSE introduced a new On-Screen Marking (OSM) system where 98.66 lakh answer sheets were scanned and evaluated digitally by over 70,000 evaluators through a private company, Coempt Eduteck. Students reported blurry PDF scans, missing pages, missing answer marks, and some even received another student's answer sheets.
CBSE has assured that the revised results will be issued after careful re-evaluation, and any discrepancies will be rectified.
