A Journey Rooted in Humble Beginnings
Born to parents Mangalamma and Ramachandra, Dhananjaya's early life was shaped by the simple yet hardworking ethos of a farming household. He received his foundational education in Kannada medium at the government school in Karadahalli, laying a strong academic base. His educational path then led him to Navkis PU College in Mysuru, followed by the completion of a BSc degree from PES College in Mandya in 2019. It was during this time that his aspirations for public service began to crystallize, inspired by the exemplary careers of former IAS officer DK Ravi and IPS officer Ravi Channannavar, both of whom also emerged from rural settings.
Seven Years of Unwavering Perseverance
Dhananjaya's pursuit of the civil services was marked by nearly seven years of relentless effort and steadfast commitment. In May 2019, he made the pivotal decision to relocate to Hyderabad to embark on focused preparation. His journey was not without its challenges:
- He successfully cleared the preliminary examination in his first attempt but narrowly missed qualifying for the mains.
- During his second attempt, the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted his preparation, yet he remained undeterred.
- He persevered through setbacks, eventually reaching the interview stage twice, in 2024 and 2025, before achieving his breakthrough.
