Goa Class X Results 2026: More Students Score Over 90%, High Scorers Rise
Goa Class X 2026: High Scorers Surge with NEP Implementation

The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education released data on Tuesday revealing a notable increase in the number of students achieving high marks in the Class X public examinations. According to the figures, 276 students scored above 90% in the 2026 exams.

Additionally, 1,848 students secured marks between 80% and 90%, while over 3,500 students fell within the 70% to 80% bracket. This marks a substantial rise compared to 2024, when only 3,809 students scored in the 75-100% range. In 2026, that number has surged to over 5,500.

The Class X results were announced on Sunday. This year's batch is the first to have completed Class X under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Although the pass percentage dipped slightly to 94.5% from 95.3% in 2025, it is noteworthy that this cohort studied 10 subjects.

Goa Board Chairperson Bhagirath Shetye attributed the improvement to enhanced school efforts. "Increasingly, more schools are conducting remedial classes. They start teaching from April during summer vacations and complete the syllabus by December, allowing students ample revision time before board exams," he said.

Under NEP, students now study six regular subjects and four skill-based subjects such as physical education and art. While the Goa Board evaluates the six regular subjects, schools assess the four skill-based ones, except for physical education and National Skills Qualification Framework subjects.

Given that this batch handled additional subjects, the rise in high scorers is significant. In 2025, most of the 8,921 students scored between 60% and 74%. This year, 4,643 students scored between 60% and 70%, with a larger share achieving above 70%.

Of the 20,618 students who appeared for the Class X exam, only 3,860 scored between 40% and 50%, and just 847 students scored below 40%.
