HTET 2026 Exam Dates Announced

The Board of School Education, Haryana (BSEH), Bhiwani, has officially released the schedule for the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2026. The examination will be conducted on June 13 and 14, 2026, and for the first time, it will be managed by a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) agency. This change aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in the examination process.

More than 2.5 lakh candidates are expected to appear for this crucial eligibility test, which is mandatory for those seeking government teaching positions in Haryana. The HTET December 2025 notification was issued on December 24, 2025, with online applications accepted from December 24, 2025, to January 5, 2026. The board emphasized that the revised arrangement is designed to strengthen transparency, improve exam management, and reduce the risk of paper leaks and irregularities.

HTET Examination Schedule

According to the schedule released by BSEH, the Level-III Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) examination will be held on June 13, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. On June 14, 2026, the Level-II Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) examination will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and the Level-I Primary Teacher (PRT) examination will be conducted from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The admit card release date has not been announced yet and will be communicated separately.

Three Levels in HTET

The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test is compulsory for candidates aiming for government teaching jobs in the state. It comprises three levels based on teaching categories:

  • Level-I: For Primary Teachers (PRT)
  • Level-II: For Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT)
  • Level-III: For Post Graduate Teachers (PGT)

Candidates who qualify become eligible to apply for teaching posts in Haryana government schools, subject to recruitment rules issued by state authorities.

Eligibility Criteria

For Level-I PRT posts, candidates must have passed Class 12 along with a Diploma in Education (D.Ed.). For Level-II TGT posts, a graduation degree with a B.Ed. is required. For Level-III PGT posts, a postgraduate degree along with a B.Ed. is necessary. Notably, there is no age limit for HTET applicants. BSEH has also planned a second HTET session tentatively in November 2026.
