The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has officially released the question papers for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026. Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 question papers can be downloaded without requiring any login credentials.

How to Download JEE Advanced 2026 Question Papers

Students can easily access the PDFs by navigating to the “Important Announcements” section on the homepage of the official website. Unlike previous years, aspirants are not required to enter their application number, password, or date of birth to download the papers. This streamlined process ensures quick and hassle-free access for all candidates.

Exam Schedule and Pattern

The JEE Advanced 2026 examination was conducted on May 17 in two shifts. Paper 1 was held from 9 am to 12 noon, while Paper 2 took place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm across various examination centres nationwide.

Paper 1 Pattern: The question paper included four Single Correct Questions (SCQs), four Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), four Matrix Match questions, and four Integer-type questions. There was no negative marking for Integer-type questions, while MCQs, SCQs, and Matrix Match questions carried a penalty of one mark for incorrect answers.

Paper 2 Pattern: The paper consisted of 18 questions divided into two paragraphs. It included four Single Correct Questions carrying (+3, -1), five Multiple Correct Questions carrying (+4, -1), five Integer-type questions carrying (+4, -1), and four paragraph-based questions carrying (+2, 0).

JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Analysis

According to feedback from students and subject experts, Paper 1 was moderate to highly difficult. Mathematics was considered the toughest and lengthiest section, while Physics tested students’ conceptual understanding extensively. Chemistry, though comparatively balanced, was described as tricky and challenging. Paper 2 was also reported to be highly conceptual and time-consuming, especially the Mathematics section, which many candidates found particularly difficult.

Admit Card and Results

IIT Roorkee had released the admit cards for the examination on May 11, 2026. The admit card included important details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, examination centre, reporting time, and instructions related to documents required at the exam venue. Candidates are advised to keep their admit cards handy for future reference.

The JEE Advanced 2026 results are scheduled to be announced on June 1. Candidates will be able to check their scorecards through the official portal once released. It is recommended that candidates regularly visit the official website for updates and notifications.
