The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially announced the Round 1 seat allotment results for the counselling process of 2026. Candidates who participated in the registration can now verify their allotment status on the official website.
How Allotment is Determined
The allotment result is based on several factors, including the candidate's JEE Main or JEE Advanced rank, category, available seats, and the preferences submitted during counselling. Students can view the specific institute and course assigned to them by logging in with their application number and password.
Important Steps for Allotted Candidates
Those who have received a seat in the first round must complete the online reporting process from June 13 to June 26. This involves paying the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF), uploading required documents, selecting one of the options (Freeze, Float, or Slide), and undergoing document verification.
The seat acceptance fee is set at Rs 30,000 for general category candidates and Rs 15,000 for reserved categories. Failure to pay within the deadline will result in disqualification from further counselling rounds.
Expected Release of Cut-Off Ranks
JoSAA is anticipated to publish the opening and closing ranks, commonly referred to as cut-offs, for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). These ranks will be accessible on the official website following the seat allotment process.
