Understanding Percentile vs Percentage
The CET Cell clarified that MBA/MMS CET results are declared in percentiles, not percentages. A percentage represents the marks obtained out of the total marks, whereas a percentile indicates a candidate's relative performance compared to all other test-takers. In other words, percentile reflects a candidate's ranking in the competition and is calculated using a standardized statistical method. The CET Cell advised candidates to focus on percentile scores rather than percentages while evaluating their performance.
