The Online Student Management (OSM) portal, which was introduced to streamline board exam registrations and results, faced severe technical glitches, causing widespread disruptions for students and schools across the country.
Government's swift response
The Ministry of Education, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ordered the immediate transfer of CBSE Chairman Nidhi Chhibber and Secretary Dr. Biswajit Saha. The move comes after numerous complaints from parents and educational institutions about the malfunctioning portal, which led to delays in exam registrations and errors in result processing. The ministry stated that the transfers are part of an effort to ensure accountability and improve the board's administrative efficiency.
Impact on students and schools
Thousands of students faced difficulties while trying to register for the upcoming board exams through the OSM portal.
