The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced that the re-examination for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 will be conducted on June 21, 2026. The public notice was released on May 15, following a press release dated May 12. According to the official notification, this re-exam is being conducted under the directives of the National Medical Commission (NMC) to facilitate admissions to medical courses in institutions across India.
Examination Mode and Languages
The NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be held in Pen and Paper mode across various cities within India and abroad. Candidates can appear for the exam in 13 languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Exam Timing and Duration
As per the notice, the examination will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM Indian Standard Time, which includes the time allotted for examination formalities. The total duration is 3 hours and 15 minutes.
Address and Exam City Update Facility
The NTA has opened a facility for candidates to update their present address and preferred examination city. This option is available for students who may need to change their exam city due to a change in residence. Candidates can make modifications by visiting the official NEET website from May 15 to May 21, 2026, until 11:50 PM.
However, only the present address and choice of examination city can be modified. No other corrections in application particulars will be allowed during this period. Candidates who do not use this facility within the given timeline will retain their previously selected examination city, and no further requests for changes will be entertained.
