Noida Pre-Board Exams for Classes 10, 12 Begin Jan 6

The Higher Education Department in Noida has officially rolled out the schedule for the crucial pre-board examinations for students of Classes 10 and 12. These tests are designed as a comprehensive dress rehearsal for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Board examinations.

Exam Schedule and Key Details

The written pre-board tests will commence on January 6 and continue until January 19 across Noida. On the first day, Class 10 students will sit for their Hindi paper, while Class 12 students will appear for Civics. All examinations in the district are slated to be held from 12 noon to 3:15 pm.

In a staggered arrangement, the neighbouring district of Ghaziabad will begin its pre-board examinations later, starting from January 15 and concluding on January 24. Education officials stated that this phased schedule allows for smoother management of logistics and arrangements across different districts.

Massive Student Participation and Security Measures

This year, a significant total of 42,674 candidates from Noida are registered for the UP Board High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) examinations. The breakdown includes 22,597 boys and 20,350 girls. Specifically, 22,773 students are enrolled for the High School exam, and 20,947 will appear for the Intermediate examination.

Authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure transparency and integrity. Sixty examination centres have been established in the district. A senior official confirmed that CCTV surveillance will be mandatory at all centres, including the strong rooms where question papers and answer sheets will be stored. Security protocols are being closely monitored at every level.

Logistical Preparations and Major Format Change

As part of the extensive preparations, approximately 350,000 answer sheets for both levels will be delivered to the Government Inter College in the third week of January. These will be kept under strict security before the coded copies are dispatched to various centres in the fourth week.

Officials also highlighted a significant change initiated by the UP Board in the answer sheet format. The traditional wide-pattern sheet has been discontinued. Students will now receive longer answer sheets, providing more writing space. This modification is expected to improve answer readability, allow for better handwriting, and enhance overall examination security.

With the main UP Board examinations scheduled to begin on February 16, 2026, these pre-board tests mark a critical phase in the academic calendar for thousands of students in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
