The North Goa district collector, Ankit Yadav, convened a meeting on Tuesday to review and finalize preparations for the NEET re-examination scheduled for June 21. During the session, Yadav directed all examination centers to ensure robust infrastructure, including uninterrupted power supply and comprehensive CCTV surveillance.
Focus on Candidate Experience
Yadav stressed the importance of a seamless experience for candidates. Officials were instructed to manage traffic effectively around examination centers and provide necessary support for candidates with disabilities and special needs. The Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) was tasked with arranging special buses for candidates and publicizing the service well in advance.
Strict Adherence to NTA Guidelines
Yadav reiterated that all guidelines and standard operating procedures issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) must be strictly followed. The District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) meeting for North Goa was held under his chairmanship.
He directed deputy collectors, mamlatdars, center supervisors, and various departments—including police, education, higher education, power, information technology, KTC, and others—to ensure the NEET re-exam is conducted smoothly, fairly, and securely across the district.
Detailed Readiness Assessment
A thorough assessment of preparedness at all centers was conducted. Yadav instructed centers to provide adequate drinking water, sanitation facilities, and appropriate seating arrangements for candidates.
Security and Anti-Cheating Measures
Security preparations were also reviewed, covering police deployment, secure handling of confidential examination materials, frisking procedures, biometric verification, and measures to prevent unfair means.
The health department was directed to provide medical teams and ambulances at every examination center.
Coordination and Professionalism
All departments were told to coordinate closely and ensure that examination duties are performed with full diligence and professionalism.
