The National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented unprecedented security measures for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, scheduled for June 21, in response to the recent paper leak controversy. The re-exam will involve approximately 22 lakh candidates across the country.
Strict Lockdown for Paper Setters
As part of the new security protocols, question paper setters and translators are being isolated in a secure location with restricted communication until the examination concludes. This measure aims to prevent any leaks during the preparation phase.
IAF Airlifts Question Papers
To ensure the safe transportation of confidential question papers, the Indian Air Force will airlift them to 18 locations nationwide. This step is designed to prevent tampering during transit and maintain the integrity of the examination process.
Multi-Layered Security Framework
The NTA has compartmentalised the entire examination process, ensuring that no single individual has access to the complete chain of operations. This multi-layered security framework reduces the risk of internal breaches.
Social Media Monitoring
Authorities are actively tracking online platforms to counter fake paper leak claims and misinformation campaigns. This proactive measure aims to maintain public trust and prevent panic among candidates.
District-Level Coordination
District administrations and police are being closely involved in the conduct of the examination, especially in logistically challenging areas. This coordination ensures smooth operations and rapid response to any issues.
The NEET-UG 2026 re-examination is a critical step in restoring confidence in the medical entrance process, and the NTA's robust security measures reflect its commitment to fairness and transparency.
