The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for submitting bank account details for NEET-UG 2026 fee refunds. The new deadline is 11:50 pm on 22 June 2026. This extension allows candidates who missed the original deadline to provide their bank information even after the re-examination scheduled for 21 June.
Key Details of the Extension
Candidates must submit their bank details through the official NEET-UG portal. The required information includes the account holder's name, account number, IFSC code, and bank name. Once submitted, these details cannot be modified, so candidates are advised to verify the accuracy of the information to avoid any delays in receiving their refunds.
Background Context
The original NEET-UG 2026 examination was cancelled due to allegations of paper leaks. This led to the decision to conduct a re-examination and initiate a refund process for the affected candidates. The total number of registered candidates for NEET-UG 2026 was 2,275,011, out of which 2,205,035 appeared for the original exam. Before the extension, approximately 1.3 million candidates had already updated their bank details.
The re-examination is scheduled for 21 June 2026. The NTA's decision to extend the deadline aims to ensure that all eligible candidates can submit their bank details and receive their fee refunds without any issues.
