The National Testing Agency (NTA) has acknowledged that some candidates are experiencing difficulties downloading their admit cards for the NEET-UG re-examination, scheduled for June 21. In a statement on Monday, the agency assured affected students that the issues would be resolved promptly.
According to the NTA, over 400,000 aspirants have successfully downloaded their admit cards so far. The agency took to social media platform X to address the concerns, stating, 'We are aware that some of you are facing technical glitches or server issues in accessing your admit cards. Our teams have been working towards resolving all these issues. We are there for you and will ensure that very soon, all candidates get their admit cards. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.'
Background of NEET-UG Controversy
The NEET-UG exam, conducted for admission to medical programs, was originally held on May 3, with approximately 2.3 million students appearing. However, the exam was canceled days later following the discovery of a paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is handling the case and has arrested 13 individuals across the country.
The paper leak, along with the controversy surrounding the CBSE Class 12 exam's Online Marking System, has sparked nationwide protests demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Ongoing Investigations
The CBI continues to investigate the NEET-UG paper leak, with arrests made in multiple states. The agency is probing the involvement of organized rackets that allegedly offered 'manageable' exam centers for huge sums, with some counseling sessions beginning months before the exam.
