Odisha Prepares for NEET-UG 2026 Re-exam on June 21

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha skill development and technical education department has issued a directive to principals, teachers, and other officials assigned to NEET-UG 2026 duties to begin preparations for the upcoming re-examination scheduled on June 21.

Biswaranjan Rath, the additional secretary, informed the selected government polytechnics at Balangir, Balasore, Berhampur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, and Jajpur, as well as industrial training institutes (ITIs) at Balasore, Rourkela, and Berhampur, that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination on June 21 (Sunday) from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.

According to the letter, principals, teachers, and other officials had earlier been designated as centre superintendents and examination functionaries for the NEET-UG examination. In view of the re-examination, the department has asked the personnel concerned to remain stationed at their respective headquarters by June 19.

The officials have also been instructed to participate in a mock drill on June 20, a day before the examination, to ensure smooth conduct of the test. The department emphasized that all designated personnel must discharge their assigned responsibilities on the examination day and remain present until the completion of all examination-related activities and formalities.

This re-examination follows earlier preparations for the NEET-UG 2026, which is a crucial medical entrance exam for aspiring doctors across India. The NTA's decision to conduct a re-examination underscores the importance of maintaining integrity and fairness in the admission process.

Odisha's education authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the examination is conducted smoothly. The involvement of polytechnics and ITIs as examination centers reflects the state's commitment to leveraging its technical education infrastructure for national-level assessments.

Students and parents have been advised to stay updated with official communications from the NTA and the state department regarding any further instructions. The mock drill on June 20 is expected to help identify and resolve any logistical issues, ensuring a seamless experience for candidates on the exam day.
