Pimpri Chinchwad Police Roll Out Comprehensive Security for Board Exams

In a decisive move to uphold academic integrity, the Pimpri Chinchwad police have announced a series of stringent measures to ensure a copy-free environment for the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. With the exams scheduled to commence on February 10 for Class 12 and February 20 for Class 10, authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their campaign against malpractice.

Prohibitory Orders and Surveillance Deployed

According to an official press statement, the police have issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, within a 500-metre radius of all examination centres. This area will see a complete ban on unauthorized persons and vehicles, as well as the closure of public telephones, xerox centres, cyber cafés, and similar facilities during the exam period.

Drone cameras and CCTV surveillance will be actively used to monitor sensitive centres, with video recording implemented as needed. Deputy Commissioner of Police Pradeep Jadhav emphasized that adequate police force will be stationed at each of the 73 Class 10 and 42 Class 12 examination centres to maintain law and order.

Strict Bans on Electronic Devices

Inside examination halls, the use of mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, pagers, and any internet broadcasting media is strictly prohibited. This measure aims to prevent any form of cheating or unauthorized communication during the tests.

The police have warned that violations of these orders will result in punishment under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, ensuring legal repercussions for offenders.

Legal Actions Against Malpractice

Any individual found instigating, assisting, or directly engaging in unfair means during the exams will face charges under the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices Act, 1982. This includes those caught copying or cooperating in such acts, highlighting the zero-tolerance policy adopted by the authorities.

The Pimpri Chinchwad police are coordinating closely with the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education as part of a statewide 'Copy-Free Campaign' directed by the Government of Maharashtra's School Education and Sports Department.

This comprehensive approach underscores the commitment to conducting fair and impartial examinations, safeguarding the credibility of the board exam process for all students involved.
