Prachi Nigam, the young girl from Uttar Pradesh who gained national attention for topping the Class 10 board exams, has once again demonstrated her academic prowess by scoring 91.20% in the Class 12 examinations. Hailing from Sitapur district, Prachi has consistently shown that she loves studying and remains undeterred by any criticism she has faced.
Exceptional Performance in Core Subjects
In her Class 12 exams, Prachi performed exceptionally well in several subjects. She secured an impressive 99% in Mathematics, 96% in Hindi, 95% in Chemistry, and 93% in Physics. However, English proved to be her weak area, where she scored only 73 marks.
According to reports, Prachi mentioned that she was preparing for engineering entrance exams like the JEE, which might have contributed to her relatively lower performance in English. She has always aspired to become an engineer at one of the top IITs in the country.
From Fame to Trolling
Prachi first came into the limelight in 2024 when she topped the Class 10 UP Board exams with an outstanding 591 marks out of 600. While she received widespread accolades, she also became a target of online trolling due to her facial hair.
In response to the criticism, Prachi stated, "After the announcement of results in UP, there was an outburst of trolling. While there were people who trolled me, there were also people who supported me. I thank everybody." She further added, "But however God has made me, I am fine with it. It does not make any difference even if you think that there is a difference because Chanakya too had been trolled but he didn't care, neither do I."
Reflecting on the Attention
In an interaction with BBC, Prachi reflected on the attention she received, saying, "If I had a few fewer marks, I would not have topped and got famous. Maybe that would have been better. I don't care much about the situation because I have been facing this for a long time. People see girls with hair and feel weird about it because they have not seen this before."
