Exam Structure and Admit Card Availability

The SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2026 consists of two papers. Paper 1 is mandatory for all posts. Paper 2 is specifically for candidates applying for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) position in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

Candidates can download their admit cards from the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in. The Commission has issued a separate admit card for those attempting the Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) on January 18.

Important Guidelines for Candidates

All candidates must follow strict rules to ensure smooth entry and participation in the exam. Here are the key points to remember:

  • Carry an original photo identity card with the exact date of birth as printed on the SSC CGL 2025 Tier 2 admit card.
  • If the photo ID does not match the date of birth, bring an additional original certificate as proof.
  • Do not write anything on the admit card before arriving at the exam venue. Writing is only permitted in the invigilator's presence after the first login.
  • Avoid distorting, folding, or damaging the barcode area on the admit card.
  • Candidates who did not verify with Aadhaar during registration must report to the examination centre two hours before the scheduled start time.
  • Complete proper exit verification after the exam before leaving the hall to avoid cancellation of candidature.

Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) Details

The DEST is a critical component of Paper 1. It includes one data entry task and lasts for 15 minutes each for Section 3 and Section 4. Candidates eligible for a scribe will receive 20 minutes to attempt the DEST.
