TRB to Release Assistant Professor Results in Two Weeks
TRB Assistant Professor Results Expected Soon

The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) is likely to release the results of the assistant professors' recruitment exam within two weeks. The board has already released the results for five subjects, and the results for the remaining 43 subjects, along with the list of shortlisted candidates, are expected by the end of June.

Exam Details

More than 42,000 candidates appeared for the exam to fill 2,708 assistant professor posts in government arts and science colleges in December last year. The board is awarding marks for candidates' experience. “We will release the results along with the shortlisted candidates in a 1:3 ratio for the interview,” a source in the TRB said.

Part-Time PhDs Accepted

The board has decided to accept part-time PhDs acquired in the regular mode for the recruitment following representations from teachers’ associations. According to University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations, candidates who received PhDs through distance mode alone are not eligible for regular appointment, while part-time PhD degrees acquired in regular mode are eligible.

If the process goes as scheduled, students joining government arts and science colleges will have new faculty members in their first semester. There are 181 government arts and science colleges in the state, which have huge vacancies due to no recruitment in the past 10 years. The colleges currently employ more than 8,000 guest faculty members.
