Trichy Fourth in State Class 10 Exams with 97.31% Pass

Trichy: The Trichy district has climbed to the fourth position in the state in the Class 10 board examination results, achieving an overall pass percentage of 97.31%. This marks an increase of 0.7 percentage points from last year, when the district had secured the fifth rank in the state.

Student Performance and School Statistics

A total of 33,494 students — comprising 16,943 boys and 16,551 girls — from 446 schools in the district appeared for the examinations. Of these, 32,594 students (16,265 boys and 16,329 girls) successfully cleared the exams.

Trichy also emerged as the top district in the state in terms of the number of government schools achieving a 100% pass rate. Out of 224 government schools in the district, 119 recorded perfect results. Overall, 247 schools in the district secured cent per cent results, earning Trichy the second position in the state in this category.

Government School Performance

In government schools alone, the pass percentage rose by 1.56 percentage points to 96.48%, placing the district fifth in the state among government schools. Of the 13,167 students who appeared from government schools, 12,703 passed the examinations.

Top Scorers

Nine students from private schools in the district scored 497 out of 500 marks. Among government school students, the highest mark of 494 was secured by a student of Manachanallur Girls Higher Secondary School.

Education Department's Efforts

Trichy district chief educational officer Krishnapriya stated that the department had been working with the goal of increasing the district's pass percentage by one percentage point every year. "We have achieved a step forward in the Plus Two and Class 10 results. The credit goes to headmasters, teachers, parents and students for their cooperation," she told TOI.

Krishnapriya added that while certificates were presented only to teachers of schools securing 100% results last year, this year the administration is planning to honour headmasters as well. A formal announcement will be made by the district collector.
