Twin sisters top ICSE X with identical 97.6%

Hazaribag: In a rare and remarkable achievement, 16-year-old twin sisters Srishti Kumari and Drishti Kumari have topped Carmel School's ICSE Class X board examination results by each scoring 97.6 percent. The duo jointly earned the distinction of being school toppers, surprising even themselves.

Exceptional Academic Performance

Drishti secured 99 in Computer Applications, 92 in Mathematics, 96 in Science, 97 in English, 97 in Hindi, and 99 in Social Studies. Srishti obtained 98 in Computer Applications, 98 in Mathematics, 94 in Science, 97 in English, 97 in Hindi, and 98 in Social Studies. The sisters said, "The results surprised us too. We checked our marks multiple times, calculated the total and percentage repeatedly, and only then got convinced about the same percentage."

Study Habits and Discipline

Speaking to the Times of India, both siblings mentioned that they studied for three to four hours every day. "We studied with concentration and followed whatever was taught in school," said Drishti. "We maintained a fixed schedule for mobile usage and stayed away from it during study time," added Srishti.

Family Support

Their mother, Dr Rashmi Prasad, a gynaecologist, expressed her joy: "Both Srishti and Drishti have been meritorious students since childhood. While we expected good results, we never imagined that both would score more or less identical marks in all subjects. The sisters also share a strong bond and often display similar habits." Their father, Dr Mohanlal, is an eminent ophthalmologist. The sisters credited their parents for their success, noting that despite busy schedules, their parents always made time for them. They added that their mother spent more time with them and helped consistently in their studies.

Mutual Motivation

The twins revealed that whenever one focused on self-study, the other would automatically feel motivated. They attributed their success to mutual encouragement. "We studied, fixing our goal, and now, we will again follow the same path to reach the target of our life," they said.

Future Plans

Both sisters aspire to become doctors like their parents and plan to prepare for the NEET examination.

School Performance

Carmel School reported that a total of 107 students appeared for the Class X examination. Out of these, 11 secured more than 90 percent, 84 passed with first division marks, and 12 scored below 60 percent.

The sisters shared that during childhood, their nature was very similar, and they even wore similar clothes. However, as they grew older, their likes and dislikes began to differ.
