The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the application correction window for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 examination will close tomorrow, May 28, at 11:50 PM. Candidates who wish to make changes to their submitted application forms must visit the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in and complete the editing process before the deadline.
Who Can Use the Correction Facility?
The correction facility is available for candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Professor, admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and admission to PhD only in Indian universities and colleges. According to the official notice, candidates can make corrections to their online application forms from May 26 to May 28, 2026. NTA has clarified that this is a one-time correction opportunity, and no further requests will be entertained after the deadline.
Important Instructions
Candidates are strongly advised to carefully review all details before submitting the corrected application form. Once submitted, the form will be frozen, and no additional changes will be allowed. It is crucial to ensure that all information is accurate, as no corrections will be accepted after May 28, 2026.
Fields That Cannot Be Changed
The following fields are not editable:
- Mobile number
- Email address
- Permanent and present address
- Uploaded photograph
- Uploaded signature
Editable Fields
Candidates can modify the following details:
- Candidate name
- Father’s name
- Mother’s name
- Examination city selection
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Category
- Sub-category or Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) status, if not verified through the Unique Disability ID (UDID) portal
- Subject selected for the examination
NTA has also informed that the option to change the examination subject will remain available until the end of the correction period.
UGC NET June 2026 Correction Process: Important Details
Candidates can make corrections only once. After the corrected form is submitted, the application form will be frozen, and no further edits will be allowed. If the changes affect the examination fee, candidates must pay the additional amount using Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
