Students in Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad have achieved outstanding results in the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) board examinations for 2026, with both districts improving their state rankings. The results, announced on Thursday, highlighted significant progress in academic performance across both Class 10 and Class 12.

Class 12 Toppers

In Gautam Buddh Nagar, Himanshi Sharma of KCS Girls Inter College, Surajpur, secured the top position with 456 marks out of 500, achieving a percentage of 91.2%. Gaurangi of Mihir Bhoj Girls Inter College came second with 448 marks (89.6%), followed by Guriya Kumar of Dayawati Memorial Inter College with 445 marks (89%). In Ghaziabad, Timothy Mandal of Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth Inter College topped the district with 93.4%. The second position was jointly held by Vishesh of Government Ordnance Factory Inter College, Muradnagar, and Hiba Fatma of Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth, both scoring 451 marks (90.2%). Nishu Kumari of Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth secured third place with 88.6%.

Class 10 Toppers

For Class 10 in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Devesh Kumar of Seth Tularam Saraswati Vidyamandir, Jewar, emerged as the district topper with 566 marks out of 600, equivalent to 94.3%. Rishika Kumari of SBS Inter College secured second place with 93.1%, while the third position was jointly shared by Hari Om of SRS Inter College and Pawan Singh of Nagar Public School, both scoring 93%. In Ghaziabad, Ayan Khan of Maharishi Dayanand Vidyapeeth topped with 95.3%. Rashika, also from the same school, secured second place with 91.8%, and Swati Kumari of BRS Convent School stood third with 91.5%.

District Performance and Rankings

Gautam Buddh Nagar witnessed a remarkable improvement in its Class 10 ranking, jumping from 31st position in 2025 to eighth this year. The district recorded a pass percentage of 93.4%, up from 91.1% last year. In Class 12, the district climbed to 12th place with a pass percentage of 86.5%, compared to 14th place and 85.6% in 2025. A total of 21,587 students from GB Nagar appeared for the Class 10 examination, of whom 20,181 passed. In Class 12, 19,502 students appeared and 16,972 cleared the test.

Ghaziabad also improved its Class 10 ranking from 19th in 2025 to 13th this year, with a pass percentage of 92.9%, marginally higher than 92.5% last year but still below the 94.3% recorded in 2024. In Class 12, Ghaziabad retained its eighth rank in the state despite a slight dip in pass percentage, which fell from 88.5% in 2025 to 87.2% this year. A total of 27,176 students from Ghaziabad appeared in Class 10, with 25,254 passing. In Class 12, 24,471 students appeared and 21,349 cleared the board exams.

Officials' Comments

Rajesh Kumar Singh, District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) for Gautam Buddh Nagar, attributed the improved performance to focused teacher training and timely assessment of students. "The district focused on teacher training and timely assessment of students for the board examination. We aim to top the state in coming days," he said.
