The Union Public Service Commission's Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 was conducted peacefully at 36 centres across Ranchi on Sunday under elaborate security arrangements.
Examination Schedule
The examination was held in two sessions. The morning session, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, covered general studies. The afternoon session, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, was for the civil services aptitude test.
Security Measures
To prevent any disturbance, Sadar sub-divisional officer Kumar Rajat imposed prohibitory orders within a 200-metre radius of all examination centres. The restrictions barred the gathering of five or more persons, use of loudspeakers, display of arms and ammunition and traditional weapons, and the organisation of public meetings near the venues.
Rajat said the district administration ensured tight deployment at every location.
