Chaturthi holds immense religious significance among Hindus and is considered highly auspicious. This particular Chaturthi occurs during Adhik Maas and is known as Vibhuvana Chaturthi. As it is an Adhik Maas Sankashti Chaturthi, devotees are advised to engage in various religious and spiritual practices to gain maximum benefits from observing the fast and performing sacred activities. This fast is believed to fulfill all desired wishes of devotees. Lord Ganesha, known as the remover of obstacles, blesses those who worship him with devotion.

According to the Bhavishya Purana and Narasimha Purana, there are a total of 13 Sankashti Chaturthi fasts in a year, each associated with a different form of Ganesha. The Shiva Purana states that those who observe Sankashti Chaturthi with dedication are granted serenity, prosperity, and spiritual advancement, in addition to being freed from difficulties. The Brahmavaivarta Purana describes Lord Ganesha as a manifestation of ultimate consciousness and the son of Shiva and Parvati. Worshiping Him on Chaturthi is said to bestow wisdom (jnana) and intellect (buddhi) upon the devotee.
