Jaipur: Vice President C P Radhakrishnan is set to address the 35th convocation of Rajasthan University on Saturday, where 250 students will receive gold medals on stage and more than 2.71 lakh degrees will be conferred.
Gold Medal Distribution
For the 2024 examination year, 127 gold medals will be awarded to 118 students, comprising 26 men and 92 women. For 2025, 123 medals will go to 114 students, including 21 men and 93 women, with some candidates receiving multiple honours. In total, 300 PhDs and one D Litt will also be awarded.
Dignitaries and Arrangements
Officials confirmed that medals will be presented by Governor Haribhau Bagde, who will attend as guest of honour alongside higher education minister Prem Chand Bairwa and Rajya Sabha MP Radha Mohan Das Agarwal. Attendance will be restricted to medallists and their parents, with a protocol rehearsal scheduled for Friday.
Vice Chancellor Alpana Kateja remarked, “These numbers clearly demonstrate that female students have set new benchmarks in the academic sphere through their consistently outstanding performance. This achievement is not only a matter of pride for the university but also serves as a testament to the growing power of women’s education and empowerment within society.”
Digital and Security Features
Degrees will be uploaded to DigiLocker immediately after the ceremony. The university will also issue water-resistant degrees featuring 25 security features to prevent fraud.
Event Logistics
Officials stated that arrangements have been made keeping rising temperatures in mind, as the event will be held outdoors. The ceremony will commence with a performance by the Army’s military band. Additionally, a three-day youth festival will begin on campus the same day, marking its return after a three-year hiatus.
