Available Positions and Reservation Policy

The recruitment drive covers 238 vacancies across multiple key positions, with prominent roles including Labour Officer and Assistant Jailor alongside various other Group-level administrative and departmental positions. The Commission will implement category-wise reservations and relaxation norms in strict accordance with state government regulations, ensuring fair representation across communities.

Three-Stage Selection Process

CGPSC has maintained its well-established three-tier examination system for the State Services Recruitment 2025, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of candidates.

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

The initial screening consists of an objective-type preliminary examination featuring two papers. General Studies (Paper I) carries 200 marks, while the Aptitude Test (Paper II) also carries 200 marks. Each paper has a duration of two hours, with a negative marking system deducting one-third marks for every incorrect answer.

Paper II serves as a qualifying paper, while shortlisting for the Main Examination depends exclusively on Paper I scores. Candidates must achieve minimum qualifying marks of 33% for unreserved categories and 23% for reserved categories in each paper. Importantly, Prelims marks do not contribute to the final merit list, serving only as a screening mechanism.

Stage 2: Main Examination

Successful candidates from the Prelims will proceed to the comprehensive Main Examination, which comprises seven descriptive papers totaling 1400 marks. The papers include Language, Essay, and five General Studies papers (I through V), each carrying 200 marks with a three-hour duration. Attendance in all seven papers is mandatory, and absence from any single paper results in immediate disqualification.

Stage 3: Interview/Personality Test

The final stage involves an Interview/Personality Test worth 100 marks. Candidates who secure the minimum marks prescribed by the Commission in the Main Examination will be called for this round. Typically, the Commission shortlists candidates numbering up to three times the total available vacancies for the interview stage.

The Commission has mandated exclusive online applications for the State Services Preliminary Examination 2025. Interested candidates should follow these steps:
