The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an extension of the application deadline for the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) All India Entrance Examination for Admission Postgraduate (AIEEA PG) 2026 and the All India Competitive Examination (AICE) Junior Research Fellowship/Senior Research Fellowship (JRF/SRF) (PhD) 2026. Candidates who have not yet submitted their applications can now do so through the official website, exams.nta.nic.in/icar, until June 10, 2026. This decision was made in response to requests from aspiring candidates and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
Revised Schedule for ICAR AIEEA PG and AICE JRF/SRF 2026
According to the latest notice from NTA, the registration process for both entrance examinations is currently underway. The revised schedule is as follows:
- Online application submission: Extended from June 7, 2026 (5 PM) to June 10, 2026 (9 PM)
- Last date for fee payment: Extended from June 7, 2026 (11:50 PM) to June 10, 2026 (11:59 PM)
Candidates are strongly advised to complete the registration process before the revised deadline to avoid any last-minute technical issues.
Exam Date
Both entrance examinations will be conducted on July 4, 2026. The ICAR AICE JRF/SRF (PhD) examination will be held for 72 subjects across 89 cities, while the ICAR AIEEA PG examination will cover 20 subjects and be conducted in 122 cities nationwide.
Application Fee Details
The category-wise application fees for the entrance examinations are as follows:
- General/Unreserved: AIEEA PG Rs 1,300; AICE JRF/SRF Rs 2,000
- OBC-NCL, EWS, UPS: AIEEA PG Rs 1,255; AICE JRF/SRF Rs 1,955
- SC, ST, PwBD, Third Gender: AIEEA PG Rs 675; AICE JRF/SRF Rs 1,075
Exam Pattern
Both AIEEA PG and AICE JRF/SRF 2026 examinations will have a duration of two hours. The question paper will contain 120 questions. Candidates will receive four marks for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect response.
Important Instructions for PwBD Candidates
Candidates belonging to the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories will have their Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card details verified by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. Those who do not possess a UDID Card must upload a valid disability certificate during the application process. The certificate may be subject to verification by the issuing authority if required.
