Gujarat Government Announces Recruitment of 16,000 Teachers for Primary Schools
The Gujarat government's education department has launched a major recruitment drive to fill teacher vacancies in government and grant-in-aid primary schools across the state. Under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, approximately 16,000 gyan sahayaks will be hired on an 11-month contractual basis. The online application process commenced on Thursday and will remain open until June 17, providing a substantial employment opportunity for educated unemployed youth.
Recruitment Details and Eligibility
According to the official notification, the recruitment covers government and aided primary schools, model schools, and grant-in-aid ashram schools under the tribal development office and the social justice and empowerment department. The maximum age limit for applicants is 48 years as of the application deadline. Selection will be strictly merit-based and in line with prescribed eligibility criteria. Candidates are advised to read all instructions carefully before applying.
Salary and Tenure
Selected candidates will be assigned at the school level and will receive a fixed monthly salary of Rs 21,000 for the contract period. The appointment will automatically conclude after 11 months. The department aims to complete the recruitment process within a defined timeline.
